Anatolian rugs and flat weaves are handmade by semi-nomadic tribes who live along the Turkish Mediterranean coast. Wool and locally produced natural dyes are used in their weaving. Predominant colours used are bright red; Indigo blue; beige; camel brown and to a lesser degree white. The designs used have representation of flowers; ears of grain and stylized animal and human figures.
